Algerian government to stop “Free market” in public health services

Algerian government decided to stop “free market” in the field of public health through ratifying Tuesday the draft executive decree which identified the agreements between the social security and doctors. 

 

 

  • Government will continue to support the socially secured class in the field of health, and will also nationalize prices of medical services through legal conventions.
  • According to the draft, available at Echorouk, model agreements identified the payment of services 250 DA for the generalists and 400 DA for the specialized doctors, and only for socially secured patients.
  • Agreements also included the granting of an annual payment for medical services, 250 DA and 400 DA for every socially secured patient.
  • The executive decree includes two types of agreements, first related to the model agreements between social security authorities and generalists and second related to model agreements between social security authorities and specialists.
